Another avenue would be to place it (with good written detail and pictures) on your Facebook...I always ask my friends to let other friends, family, etc. know. Make sure the posting and gallery is public!

Re: Best online locations to sell boat?

To be frankly honest, I posted my Boston Whaler on iboats. Got a couple calls but distance killed the deal(s). No fault of iboats, just a very limited market and geography.

I had it posted on CL, locally in PHX, and got little interest. Not A CC market. I expanded the listing to San Diego and it sold instantly, to a person, in PHX that goes to SD often. She didn't think of looking in the PHX CL market.

CL is a great place to list, IMHO. I've sold everything, I posted, in the last three years. Very quickly.

Those that laugh at CL and post ridiculous ads, are not adept at understanding CL and how to work it. IMHO.

I have to agree with that. I posted a boat for sale one afternoon, had 4 emails about it that evening, and had it sold for my asking price the next day. IMO the "secrets" are to give a good and honest description of the boat, include plenty of GOOD photos (not the blurry smartphone photos you often see), have a realistic expectation for price. And it didn't hurt that I was willing to take the buyer for a test ride.
