That's how I'd do it anyway.

"Well put."

Re: Best Outboard Engine Treatments

I am using one motor treatment,...and one motor treatment ONL,.. in my new 15 HP Mercury four stroke outboard,...and that is "Sta-Bil Marine Formula" fuel stabilizer. Been told by my Mercury outboard dealer that it is one of the best ones to use outside of Mercury's own stabilizer, and WILL NOT void my warranty. I consider that to be very cheap insurance to keep things clean inside my motor, and stave off the effects of ethanol at the same time. Use it at every fill up!;)

In my case it's because after 40 years believing I was smarter than the folks who built my motors I have finally come to the conclusion that they DO know best.

There is nothing top secret about these products and some are nothing more than alcohol.
Look up the MSDS's and you'll many learn things about all the additives and none of them can do much for a motor in good running condition, but at times can be useful for specific purposes.

Much of it is directed at people who have that same line of thought, if it has my brand of motor on it, it must be good for it and they'll pay more for the product.

There is nothing bad about the branded products, but they aren't miracle elixirs either.

Like I said...if you're smarter than they are you can decide for yourself and maybe save a few bucks.
