What do you guys think is the best location for the Bilge pump through hull fitting? I am putting a 500gph electric Bilge pump on my 15ft Bayliner Capri-outboard- and was thinking the Starboard side so I can see if it is working, or maybe into the splashwell so I don't actually have to drill through the hull just let it drain out of the splashwell. What have others done?

I personally wouldn't put a hole in something i didnt have to. I am wondering was there no previous pump? And what do you think the pump is going to run alot, or not?

It did not originally have a bilge pump, but I want it there 'just in case'.Not planning on takin' on water, but you never know right? My boat should be "unsinkable" due to the fact there is over 14cu ft of foam under the deck, under bow seats ect. I will just run it off of a dash switch and use ony as needed. It may never be used, but i'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Right??

I've seen them in many locations, just well above the water line of course. Typically just below the rub rail as close to the pump as possible. The shorter run of hose the better. The boat I have now has two outlets (one on each side and the pump hose has a tee fitting going to both.

Do you even have a place to put the pump ? do you have a bilge at all in that little 15 footer ? Do you have any way at all to route hoses ?

Dont get me wrong here..I just remember some of those little guys were capped with kinda No access from the bottom/bilge to the outside hull ( aside from drilling a hole not just through the hull..but also into the liner ) .

Do you have a "chase space " to even think about putting a fitting and hose connections to hide what your considering ?

I guess if you can..use your splash well for drain..but the hose has to be routed above from the well to your pump to not allow backwash.

Just dont see it.. got pics ?

YD.
