What do you guys recommend? I've read of various recommendations on this board, but wanted to give specific motor and get your feedback.

My current plugs aren't that old, but just de-carbed and have heard to replace plugs about 10 hours afterwards. I've also read to gap it a little below the recommendation, because it will expand over time. Thanks for the help.

So based on this I guess my motors are loopers? Not to get off topic, but what exactly does looper mean?

Also, I'm really looking for specific brand recommendations for spark plugs (to the extent that it matters).

Thanks.

It refers to the way the fuel charge travels through the combustion chamber. In a looper engine the charge more or less enters through the intake ports loops around the top of the combustion chamber is ignited and exits through the exhaust ports. This pattern forms a loop, hence the term looper. Most of the modern OMC/BMC two strokes (perhaps even all) are loopers.

The older technology OMC motors were often known as crossflows as the charge entered one side of the chamber was ignited and exited on the other side, thus crossing the top of the combustion chamber.
