We are about to pick up our new sweetwater 22 foot tritoon with 115 merc. Curious as to what people recommend for best prop for overall performance. We do plan to pull a tube. Thanks

You don't even have the boat yet so without ANY performance data, we can't help you. There is also a PROP forum but before you post there, at least read the READ THIS FIRST sticky. Until you make some wide open throttle runs to determine maximum RPM with what you consider will be an average load, you don't know whether what you have is best or not. So wait until you get the boat. There are too many variables to just say "use this one" as it will probably be wrong. You may find that you actually need two props. One for cruising and one for towing.

Ask the dealer. Provided they have a clue and have been selling a lot of tons, they will know what prop you need. Then, once you have made some runs and know what type of rpms you are getting at WOT, you can make some adjustments if needed.

Just curious... What kind of deal are you getting on it? We just bought our toon after a month of shopping. We found the exact boat you're talking about but the dealer wouldn't budge a dollar on the price. He wanted $25K for boat and trailer. I was pretty bummed because I really liked that boat.

We ended up with a 115 hp 22' Bentley for $23K. has almost the exact same specs as the Sweetwater, but the dealer was willing to negotiate.

I have been hearing lots of good things about the new Mercury Spitfire prop. It is a 4 blade made specifically for pontoons. A 13" pitch might be right if you are pulling tubes a lot.

Was it a tri-roon?

The Sweetwater was a pontoon. It was basically identical to the Bentley that we ended up buying. They even had the same sticker price, but the Sweetwater dealer wouldn't budge at all. The only difference was the Sweetwater had a Yamaha 115 and our Bentley has a Mercury 115.

I am not unhappy with the Bentley (other than the issues I've noted in other threads, but they have been solved by the dealer).

We got the tritoon for a little over 24k. It is the premium edition. No trailer.

Ah, I missed the part where you said it was a tritoon. The Sweetwater we looked at was a pontoon. She wanted $22,500 w/out trailer, $25,500 w/ trailer.

They make a nice boat, I'm sure you'll enjoy it! What brand is the motor?
