I have a 1996 Glastron GS205 with a 5.7L mercruiser. The gear ratio is 1.47. We do some skiing, tubing, occasional wake boarding etc. What would be the best prop to run without losing the top end speed as well. I ran a high five 19p prop on my last boat and it pulled like hell out of the hole but dropped off early.

Re: best prop

I have a 1998 Glastron 205 FS with 5.0L Volvo Penta and I run a 3 blade 14 1/2" 19p. Gets on plane fine, pulls fine, with a 48 MPH top speed. This should be plenty to pop up a skier, but if you want more speed, a 21p. More hole shot would be 17p, but sacrifice greatly on top speed. I think the 19P is great overall.

Re: best prop

Has anyone ever tried one of the progressive pitch 4 blades? I have been told that a 19p progressive pitch is like having a 17 for hole shot a 19 for mid range and a 21 for top end all by the way the prop is shaped.

Re: best prop

just picked up a ultima turbo 4 which is an aggresive 4 with lots of lift. killer whole shots , awesome performance, and picked up 2 mph top end, and can run on plane at 5 mph slower. overall way better than 3 blade imho. will never buy another 3 blade
