Re: Best small engines....

Fixin, Tecumseh's power many many snowblowers without a problem and I ran a sears mower powered by a 10hp Tecumseh for 15 years after the original owner ran it low on oil and set up the bottom main brg. I sanded down the crank, drilled a new oil hole, put in a new seal(the old one got so hot it burned up) and away I went.

OMC,I just haven't had any luck with them.A gen. I had with 10hp Tecumseh was the biggest problem child I ever owned.Brand new out of the box,it was hard to get started, sometimes it would die for no apparent reason. Then one night it go boom.Blew the side of the block out.It probably had a 100 hours or so on it.I swore then I'd never own another one.

I’m with Fixin on Tecumseh. I had one on a push mower that made it 6 or 7 years then it came apart one day when I was mowing. I changed the oil every spring and checked the oil before starting it always.<br />As for best I vote Honda then Kohler.
