in the mercruiser i/o and inboard and outdrive section, it's the very 1st thread. always there. called adult's only in big cap letters.

ya could still tell us what your working on. if ya want some help other than what's in the adult only sticky thread.

Right now im working on a 92 alpha outdrive and shifter. i try to read all the forums daily, and put the good stuff in the brain. i know i read some were one time about different methods of adjusting the shifter cables. there were a couple really good ideas. one thing i havent figured is what and how the kill switch on the shifter cables bracket even works? thanks again

Have a look at this post -> http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?p=1930449#post1930449
It explains how the interrupt system works. Unfortunately this sites ability to display attachments is off-line, so wait a bit and the picture will help...

You have an Alpha One Gen II... Service manual for it -> http://www.4shared.com/document/dPQUcyn_/Service_Manual_14.html
and there is only one method to adjust the cable, the one in the genuine service manual... That way, and only that way, is guaranteed to work (given that everything is working correctly).

As long as your manual is a genuine and not one of the 'wannabes', you will be 'good to go'....

If "Your" manual says Seloc or Clymers on the cover. They are called knee pads, not service manuals. Use the factory OEM manual achris gave you a link to.
