Wire brush on a drill. Takes it off in no time. A scraper or blade can gouge the metal.

I favor a sharp wood chisel. The caveat is that crazy people should not use it or you can gouge the surface. If used at a low angle with care it works well.

I agree that crazy people should not use gasket removal materials. Great care and finess should always be used to not damage, scar or gouge gasketed surfaces, now sand away!

take a piece of copper pipe something like a 1 inch diameter about 10 inchs long. Flatten one end with a hammer so you close the hole and make it look like a chisel. Sharpen it on a bench grinder and use it to scrape the gaskets. The copper wont harm the gasket surface as easy as the steel chisel. resharpen as needed.

use the gasket spray, hard wood scraper.
mite take a couple times.
i have a damaged cyl head from a spare block that i tested the drill mounted wire wheel with - too much pressure or too long in one spot will chew it up.
those two surfaces shouldnt have any imperfections.

If you use a wire brush, make sure it is brass and not steel.
