Obviously, they leak- alot. I was thinking about prepping the area and then epoxying in a piece of sheetmetal over all of the holes. Once it's cured, it ought to be a permanent waterproof repair, right?

I had several similar holes in my aluminum transom from old hardware. I just used SS screws with a large washer and some 5200, when I could get to the back side, then I used a bolt, two large washers and a nut. It's worked for about 7 years with no issues.

Make sure you use blind pop rivets if you decide on that route, otherwise it will just leak from the hole in the middle of the rivet!!

it is hard to see, but you can get an idea how big my hole was, took several applications of JB to fill and seal.

If you could find a good welding shop they could definately braze those. If not then TD's suggestion with the JB Weld is right on the money. The prep is all important.

JB weld will for sure plug the holes. I used a epoxy putty I got at autozone to build up a badly nicked spot about the size of a quarter on my aluminum boat. I sanded the area clean and then applied the stuff into the spot pressing it in evenly with my thumb. Let it dry and then sanded lightly and applied epoxy sealant over it. works fine and a cheap repair. Thats why I prefer a metal boat..rotting wood however is another story.
