Re: Bestest wife ever (at least to me)

nice to hear there are happy couples out there.

I will never marry again, but I have a great gal in my life. She is the anti-stress girl. Nothing pushes her buttons. And she's sexy as heck, which doesn't hurt....

daycruiser- each of us having been on our own for 20 plus years has made both of us self sufficient. we both can live by ourselves but being 40 now it is nice to have someone you can count on when you forget something or run out of time to do it. Sometimes we double up on things which is not a bad thing. The hardest thing we have to get used to is living with another person. Before we got married she would not move in with me because it was not the right thing to do in the eyes of the Lord.

Read your post again. Comes across as I finally found a slave. " Works, Cooks, cleans, messages, does the dishes..." "Then I put her to work on the boat....."
The above post of yours sounds better. Believe me, a woman may start off happy to do more than her share but sooner or later. BOOM! They rebel and get tired of your bull S*** LOL "I did this and that and this and that while you sit on your hiney %$&^*(*&%. May not happen but I have seen it happen to others.
Then there is that menopause monster lurking..45+

Re: Bestest wife ever (at least to me)

Could u guys not all agree on one thing and say all women would be like the OP's wife for ever LOL :D

Im a 41 year old man, with a regal 2760 with no Admiral. im the captain and highest ranking officer.
I find it so confusing, when u see a guy with a good wife they have been together for a very short time and everybody is waiting. :( or there is some really special case. but everybody else is divorced, well except for some who r on wife number what ever. i think its insanity to do the same thing over and expect different results, but im not sure they expect different.
it gets a bit lonely sometimes but when i see threads like this I wonder if its worth the trouble, and the risk, cause a divorce the boat is cut in half, and im not sure i could live that one down.
How do u know the ones that dont go crazy after a year or two. or 6 months as i have seen

just my rant.
No Fuss :D

DAYCRUISER- I didnt mean to sound like I found a slave. I meant for it to come across as, WOW I have a wife that can do all of this and then some. She is a farm girl so she has no problem with getting her hands dirty fixing something, then going in and cooking dinner and baking dessert. I do the dishes and clean the kitchen, that is our arrangement. She is a great woman and really does not need me for anything, but I like to treat her like a queen, and if she has a hard day, then I will go get some take out,she really doesnt like my cooking eventhough I think it is fine, after I have started her bubble bath, lit the candles, and after dinner give her a massage, give her a kiss and tell her that I am very fortunate to have her as a wife and that I love her more than she will ever know.
I hear what you are saying though, and that is not me.

That was how it came across to me as well, which is why I didn't say anything. I have been 'the slave wife' and it grows mighty thin! I wont do that again. 50/50 is good but that means 50/50 of EVERYTHING (at least in the long run).

We wont even talk about "the menopause monster" - would also require addressing men's "mid-life crisis" ;)

NO FUSS- I have known her and her family since 1983. You can never tell if someone will go crazy or not, just gotta roll the dice. Good, bad, or indifferent. We both do not believe in the easy way out. Til death do we part.

At least the man with a mid life crisis will find a young thing and leave you. A menopausal woman will just stick around to torture you. I do love her though even when she tells me to stfu for no reason that I understand LOL

In no way, shape, or form is my wife my slave. I was trying to say she is a great woman who can do many things. And that God has blessed me with a beautiful, hard working woman that I proudly call my wife. Up to this point in life all I had were self centered, me me me women. I really did not think that a person of the female gender, that was single and no children, that has the qualities of this woman exsisted anymore.

Guess I jabbed a hornets nest with a stick. lol

The wife talking.....
If he did not go to work at 3:30 in the morning I would not be making his lunch, but he does and does not get back till 6:00 in the evening, and I go back to bed till 8 am when he leaves for work. I like to bake and do it for enjoyment. I cook better then he does so I wold rather eat my cooking. As long and he helps clean up I am good. Not all that subservient and I have done it all by myself for 20 years, so a little help is nice. Not doing anything (except the massage because that is new for me) that I was not doing when I lived alone. Loving life and him.

good reply 'wife talking'.
I probably shouldn't have said what I did without knowing all the facts.
I have things 'really good' too, and I know it, and I am super careful not to give less than I take.
Apologies.
Cheers

KIWI- that was her. She wanted to reply and there was no way I was gonna tell her no. I might wear the pants but she wears the panties. lol
no reason for an apology, I am a big boy and take criticism and a good ribbing, I filter through things that are said and apply the things that can make my life better or easier.

I think it's time you took her to dinner and then arrange a massage for her.

Re: Bestest wife ever (at least to me)

I will never marry again,

Shakespear wrote, when contemplating remaining a bachelor,
"I never thought I'd have to live until the day I died".

My wife won't let me in the kitchen and she does all the laundry by hand.
We have a washer and dryer, won't use them.
Same for the dishwashing machine, its just a storage rack.
Old world habits, her dad is Chinese.
She was born in a nipa hut but knows how to use a credit card.
She's educated, degrees in banking and finance, works for a bank.
Very self assured. She has no American freinds , they're mostly thai and chinese. She refuses to shop in supermkts(too expensive), chinatown is her choice.

I eat what she cooks , don't drink and I stay home.

Wife:

I'm glad you chimed in here. Sometimes, in this group of mostly men I need to make sure to make a stand for us women. If I read something that comes across as wrong, I pipe in to defend. LOL I'm glad you're the type of woman who makes her own choices about doing wonderful things for your husband. Some women don't.

I do a lot for my husband and have for 34 years. Its my choice, not his and thats how it shall remain.
;) :)

Re: Bestest wife ever (at least to me)

It's a trick they all use. They all start like that. At least all three of mine were like that in the beginning. Post again in 5 years and tell us what it is like.

Or maybe after three times it isn't them but me that changes:eek:

Re: Bestest wife ever (at least to me)

I think it's funny how everyone's wants and needs can be totally different.

Myself after reading the original, that would drive me stark raving crazy. I was always fully capable of making my own breakfast/dinner, cooking for the family, watching kids, changing a diaper etc. etc. Frankly enjoyed all those things.

But then that's me...

If it works for both of you, who is anyone else to judge?
However if it works for only one, not so much.

Shakespeare said "live", not "live again"

I tried it - it made no sense to me
