ive never had too many problems with mice, i did find a 6 foot snake skin in my boat one time, which made me kinda nervous.

the abosolute WORST thing we have in south louisiana, is what we call "dirt dobbers" there a cross between a wasp, a fly, and a PAIN IN THE ***!!! they will make nests out of mud the size of your fist, or get into an open fuel line, or even worse a carbureator and build a nest! if you let ANYTHNG sit up for any length of time the dirt dobbers will make a nest in it! i went to use my tire chuck for my air compressor today, it wouldnt shoot any air in my lawn mower tire, i pulled it off the quick connect shoved a nail in the end and out came dirt and larvae, i can deal with mice, and rats and even snakes but those damn little dirt dobbers are a PAIN!

dirt dobbers are the number one cause of unneccessary water pump jobs (nesting in the telltale).

Well me and my freind decided to pull a 1987 buick gn out of the brush on the side of his house and get this bad boy on the road. Well it has ben there for about 6 years. The t tops leaked a little can you say mold. Well the trash can had also ben right against the back of it. This think was a ****ing mouse motel. We stripped it and are about half way pulling the dahs to put in a new dash harnes. The mice didn't touch the wired it has just needed a dash harnes for a long time and it needs to be cleaned behind the dash and in the vents. Well there were two nest in the trunk. One under the rear seat. One or two in the dash Then the other day we pull the last thing the head liner. we thought they were all gone by now. Well we ripped it down and two big mice fall down with babies sucking on the moms tits. Scared the **** out of me. I hate mice.we scrubbed this thing with bleech and other cleaners.

My Glasspar was kept in a barn for 20+ years before I got it. When we went to pull it out, we didn't find any mice but we found a big old possum nest with several of the young still in there. They were living in the lil cubby. Nice set-up, you could tell they had been there for a while!
Easy clean-up with a monster shop vac!

weve had them build nest in the tell tale, the impeller housing, the carbs, the jets, we even had one, built a nest inside the water pick up tube!

to be perfectly honest with you, them bugs are so fast, ive never actually seen one NEAR a nest, they build em fast and roll out! hell, the move so fast, i couldnt even tell you what one looks like, but i sure as doo doo stinks can tell when they built a nest somewhere!

Those dirt dauber look like wasps but black. They buit a nest in my faterinlaws 150 GT intake cowl then it fell into the air box i did not find it untill the motor would not plane and i took the carbs out for a cleaning and when i opened the air box there it was laying infront of the bottom carb. That explained the junk that was around the electrods on the bottom plugs when i pulled them for a look.

We've had plenty of Mud Wasps around here, they do the same thing, they build nests in anything they can crawl into. I've found them in tell tale tubes, under hoods, in boat hulls, etc.
I had a full size hornets nest though in a free boat the other day, about 18" across, like a paper football. A pump sprayer with some gas did the trick though. Once I could get close enough to snip it off it's stem, I was able to toss it out in the open and set it ablaze. No more hornets. This boat was like the last one, totally full of bees, far more than I'm used to seeing. The guy had it stored upside down with the motor off and on a stand. It was behind a barn under a lean too. When I flipped it over, it created a huge swarm, we had fight out way through the bees to get it loaded. When I got it home, I took care of what was left, mainly just the big hornets nest. I assume that most of the bees were left behind. I removed a total of 27 honeycomb type nests, one huge hornets nest, and about 50 mud nests. The boat itself isn't bad but the motor and trailer were what I was after. The last registration on the boat is 1969.

The funny part was when a neighbor came over to see what I had found, he walked up and almost jumped right into the boat, the swarm and smell of gas stopped him pretty quick. Luckily I don't usually get stung much, for some reason bees don't usually bother me much. They can be a real surprise though if your crawling under a bow deck and find a huge nest buzzing with a few thousand bees.

Get a lot of wasp nests in satellite dish masts around here.
