bf 130 pee hole

on the last trip,there was only a dribble of water coming out of the pee hole. there are no buzzers or lights indicating overheating and the engine appears cool. i only have 22 hours on the engine, so i think the impeller is ok. could the hole be plugged?

could be plugged or thermostat could be stuck..<br /><br />do you have a service manual?

I believe from experience with my BF130 that your pee hole line is clogged. This is most likely at one of the two tee fittings in that hose circuit. The first tee is right above the pee hole inside the cowling. Pull the hoses off the tee and check for deposits in the tee itself and all 3 hoses; remove any crud. Try running the engine on ear muff water. If you don't get a good stream, then you'll have to repeat the above with the second tee fitting and hoses. The second tee is on the stbd side under the vapor separator; just follow the hose that goes aft along the stbd side from the first tee. The second tee is a knuckle-buster to get at if you don't disassemble anything else, but it can be done. Good luck.

i had the same problem and blew it out with an air compressor. just like new.

On my BF40, it occasionally plugs with either salt or bits of kelp. The first time it happened, the dealer thought I was nuts, as it worked fine at the shop (of course.) <br /><br />Now, I use either high pressure air (nozzle off a scuba tank) or a good jet of water, and direct it into the pee hole. A few seconds and it's clear. <br /><br />jky
