BF25D Gas assist/manual trim and tilt. Aftermarket availible?

This thing on my outboard leaks and will not support the motor in any position.

i can't run as is because I can't run the motor in the all the way down position, and even if I could it would kick up in reverse. Honda sells this part for $700, is there anywhere I can get an aftermarket version of this. Also open to any other solutions that will allow for shallow water drive.

There are no aftermarket direct replacment units for that gas assist.You did'nt mention if this is a tiller or remote model.The orginal unit is the same but options expand with the remote. Since this is a 25d,have checked your warranty status?Remember you have 3 years and some promos will give you 5.Might be worth a look.

I would just go to an aftermarket trim unit.

Its remote steering throttle. We got the motor in 05 so the warranty is certainly over. We're just looking for any solution to the problem that isnt horrendously expensive

Panther Marine makes a wonderfull tilt unit for this engine but they are hardly cheap.You might try the salvage yards that are out there.Since I am a west coast boy and your name suggests east coast I doubt I can be a tremendous help.Try Stone and Sons in Houston,Rancho Marine Salvage in Sacramento,Fast Eddies in Orlando or pick up any boating mag and flip to the back or just google used outboard parts.
