My younger cousin asked me a little while back if he could borrow my 4 wheeler (2000 Yamaha 400 Big Bear) to take his girl out for a ride because she's from the city and has never been on one. I had confidence in him because I have been ATV riding with him a few years back and he did alright and he was riding one of my 2 machines at the time. He said he would pay me for the gas so I agreed to it. Well today (11-26) he comes by and gave me the money for the gas.
Well he just lives out back so I drove up and showed him what does what on the machine. So after talking for a moment with him, they finally take off on the 4 wheeler. I didn't do much of a safety course figured he was going to stick to his word and not go to fast, plus the warning stickers are on the 4 wheeler plane as day. We have all kinds of trails around so I figured that they would be gone 30 minutes to an 1 hour and I also figured at worst he would be walking back home to tell me that he was stuck or he couldn't get the machine started after stalling out these were just my thoughts. Well I was wrong (dumb a-- me), he comes back on the machine and comes into the home and says hey man come check this out it aint as bad as it sounds but we had an accident.
The goof tried to climb a hill to steep with a passenger on board and of course the 4 wheeler rared up and flipped backwards. Bent the rear rack in nearly to the rear tire. Broke the snaps that hold the mud flap in place on the same side of the bend. Nearly broke the front break line loose from the master cylinder, I'll half to look at it closer it was cobbed up when I bought the machine. . It was dark when they came back, they wasn't gone all that long but I didn't get a good chance to look it over for more damage. Nobody was seriously injured thank the lord above. And thankfully they wasn't riding the kid with them. Lord I was dumb for lending that out, I have an idea how to straighten the rack out but if I wouldn't of loaned it out I wouldn't of had to worry about it. Hopefully I wont find no more damage. He did offer to help fix the rear rack by the way. I bet she (the cousin's girlfriend) wont ever forget that ride. That 4 wheeler saves me from allot of walking that I try to aviod due to my bad ankle.
You all ever had something like that happen? OK guys Let me have it I know I deserve it
, just don't add to much insult to injury.
If you half to move the thread I wasn't really thinking about anything but the stupid human tricks part if it's any count we was about 50 feet from a pond at one point lol, of course move me if needed.
