I ordered an impeller for my 1954 Evinrude 25 hp and it doesn't fit. Everywhere I've checked says that I have the right impeller, but this one clearly will not fit over my drive shaft. Has anyone else had this problem?

The original part #375808 from my parts manual comes up as replaced by OMC 378891 or Sierra's 18-3006. Is this right or did they accidently package the wrong impeller?

I don't have a 1954 parts book, but am fairly sure somebody gave you the wrong impeller.

Thanks again F R,

Maybe its a factory error? The sealed package says Sierra 18-3006. I just don't want to order another one and have the same problem.

Since our host here sells Sierra, I shouldn't say this. But that sounds like something Sierra would do. Is it way off or just a hair? Could be poor quality control form their (Sierra's) supplier.
18-3006 is the correct number to interchange with 378891.

I just measured the inside diameter of a brand new genuine Evinrude 378891 impeller and it is .628" for a 5/8 (625) shaft.
