I don't like that adage at all. I've owned several boats and the adage holds only 50% true for me. "My best day is buying a boat and my worst day is selling it" is more appropriate.

No matter how many times I've been towed in or had to work on the boat, I always enjoy the daylights out of it when I'm out on the lake.

Oh, but here's the biggest lie I see concerning boat ads.

This boat will run 80 kts all day long! I consider the speed boated in ads as either eBay speed or Craigslist speed... I want to know the true GPS speed which is usually 20 kts slower than advertised.

With life right now, I don't get to use the boat as much as I would like, but it is paid for and it is mine, and I could never live without a boat ... gotta have one. PERIOD.
