Bildge Pump

After running the bildge pump on my 1988 X-16 Glastron, the pump continued to run after turning the switch off. I tried removing the fuse and it still ran. Not sure if it is a problem with the switch or if the wiring went bad. I had to disconnect the battery to make it stop. Any ideas? Has anyone else had this problem?

Than it can be an automatic pump that is operated automatically by a float switch or by the switch on the dash, if the float is stuck in the up, the pump keeps running.
Mine stops after a delay time, yours also might!
