Hey there!

Thought someone might be able to answer a few questions for me!

I have a 1996 Fletcher Arrowhawk, and need to replace the bilge pump. I have the pump that was given when we purchased the boat.

Where about can I locate the bilge pump? I had a brief look but couldn't see it.

What's the process in changing it? Is it just a straight forward rewire?

Do bilge pumps generally operate automatically or do they require use of the switch every time?

Also, I need to locate the battery. Have looked in the back, but again couldn't see it. Was going to have a more thorough look sometime, but maybe you can fill me in on where to find it?!!

Many thanks in advance!! :)

I would imagine your Fletcher is an I/O. Most I/Os have the bilge pump buried under the motor. BS, but that's just the way it is, even on American boats. If you're lucky, it may be in front of the motor. You'll just have to feel around until you find it.

Most pumps use a separate float switch which will turn on the pump automatically should enough enter the bilge. Most boats also have a switch at the helm which allows you to turn on the pump manually. This is how the pump and float should be wired...

As far as the battery location, why don't you just give them a call and ask them? http://www.fletcher-boats.co.uk/contact-us
