My bilge quit on me so I'm trying to pull it out to test it. It's way back under neath the motor and I didn't feel any screws. Is there a trick to these things (i.e. twist unlock or something)?

most off the ones I have seen slip into a strainer/mount and it may have a couple of keepers/tabs that will have to be pushed in. :)

Have you tried jumping the wires to see if its the pump itself?? Mine quit working too so I wired the pump directly to another source and she ran great, took care of that trouble shooting. Check fuses, connections, etc..
before taking it out and might save you the trouble, You have to diconnect the wires anyway or test with a wire tester, Do those before you pull it out.

What he said!
The tabs are usually oriented at the sides but could be anywhere. You've gotta push them both in, then lift the pump vertically. The basket is screwed (or glued) to the hull.

Awesome... thanks guys.

I need to put a 1000gph pump back there anyways since I put a 500gph pump up front that pumps to the back.... that way it'll be able to keep up with the front pump and still send 500 out on top of that.

Be careful when using these claimed pumping capacity numbers. For one thing battery voltage has a big effect on how fast the motor runs. Also, more times than not these numbers are at zero head, meaning on a good day these pumps can kinda sorta pump that much water through their outlet with no hose attached. Pump water uphill, or through a length of hose, and the pumping rate will drop dramatically.
