Bilge Vent Puzzle?

As we have all experienced, restoring a boat that isn't all there becomes a challenge on putting back in parts. So, this puzzle is relative to the vent above the transom. First, I have two side vents, one on each side. They are about 16 inches long by 1.25 inches high and feed to a 3 inch vent hose. These essentially have boxed in area under them to collect and channel air flow into the 3 inch vent hose on the aft end of the box. Since I have an aft vent, the side vents should both be intakes depositing fresh air into the engine bay. So far, so good.

The bilge blower was mounted up underneath the gunwale at about the center of the transom. Now for the puzzle. Above the bilge blower is a boxed in area for air flow (to or from the aft vent?) similar to the side vents. The aft vent is 18 inches long by 1.25 inches tall. There are three of the 3 inch vent holes in the bottom of the "air box" behind the vent opening. One of those three holes (port side) is separated from the other two by a plywood barrier separating them. So, I am trying to figure out what the three holes are intended for use. Before I noticed them, I assumed the blower intake would be in the bilge and the blower outlet would be hooked to a hole under the rear vent. The only thing I can come up with is that the other two holes are for passive vent exit while cruising without the blower running all the time. Sound right? If so, then I think the blower output goes to the one hole isolated from the other two to reduce back flow into those. Does that sound right?

Makes sense to me, the passive holes are probably for heat dissipation.

This if from a Sea Ray 220 Select manual.
Might help a bit regarding the partitioned stern box.

Thanks for the pics. It does seem that my assumption on the divided vent box makes sense but not sure why they needed three holes.

The "pair" might be to match the flow rate of the "pair" of side vents when scooting with the blower off. Dunno.
What year and model is your Sea Ray ?
Assuming your sig. 1976 Sea Ray SRV220 OV HT

Hey good point! Puzzle solved.... For best air flow, one would want the cross section of the outflow opening to match the inflow opening cross section otherwise the ventilation is not as efficient due to the restriction. Now I just have to find a space for the inlet hoses and how to route them around the engine to dump air into the bilge forward of the outflow vents.
