Quick update:

I sacrificed a hand pump to the cause and rigged up some tubing into the bilge and then connected it to the pump. It did a pretty good job of getting the last bits of water out of the bilge. Pretty much could sponge it dry at this point.

Being able to completely dry the bilge is a nice advantage for a moored boat, as it is easier to see if you have any slow leaks, etc.
