no its not 2.5 year old thread i never had this case before so what ur talking about. thanks for ather inf that was givein to me.i will check all areas.

You started the thread January 2010. You followed up on June 2012. What year is it where you are?

My vote is combination of rotten bellows and engine leak. :)

ok will check it out. and the leak was for exhaust steam it was overheating this leak is water comeing in my bilge area i think it two diff kind off leak but anyway a leak is a leak if you post and have no info dont post thanks for the guy in this forum thats trying to help i will look at bellows and for engine leak.

about time to be checking for structural damage from over 2 1/2 years of an unrepaired leak. Although with "exhaust steam from overheating" there may be larger issues.

Have you even tried one of the best suggestions so far: launch without running the engine and see what happens? (yes, you can.)

Have you tried putting water in it while it's on the trailer (plug in; I shouldn't have to say that but....) and see where it comes out?

Think it may be about time to reveal what kind of boat you have, or do you prefer to remain a mystery enshrouded in an enigma?

The confusion is you started this thread 2 1/2 years ago and you had an exhaust steam/leak. Then in July of THIS year you asked about a different leak. Next time start a new thread...

well i filled the bilge up with water raised the bow and waited no sign of water.next im going to install a hose and check the raw water inlet.

no i had no cooler with me but im suspecting it from the raw water inlet wright above the heat exchanger where there to big hose clamp. 1982 mercruiser 4 cylinder 470 motor. im guessing but i will find out later on the weak. any more advice where should i look i appreciated.

I thought it might be a helpful idea.

ok filled water in my bilge, no leak found now my question is if i hook a hose to the out drive and run it if i dont see water coming in where should i look, and if i do see water coming in where should i look at

Umm, am I the only one who has noticed that this thread is 2 and a half years old? Did it take the OP THAT long to decide to fix his leak? :facepalm:
