I'd like to get a bimini for our 1991 capri 1800. I've looked all over and found some decent deals, but, my concern is the side windows on the boat. They slant inward from the top of the gunwale. So I can't install a vertical bimini post, it would have to angle in to clear the window, then go vertical.
The bimini mounting point is 73" wide, and the width at the top of the windows is 66".
I was thinking about just bending the legs to make it fit.
I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say, anyone else have this problem? How did you you fix it?

I had a similar problem on my old boat. Just get the nylon fittings to give yourself the extra play. They also sell fittings that angle but I found there was to much play with them.

I have a 1990 Maxum 1800 pretty much the same boat here is a pic of mine I just installed. Waiting on my rear brace brackets. I ordered a 73"-78" wide 6' long and 41"high so my height would be 70", I mounted my brackets to the outside of the window, they have many different kinds of mounts for your Bimini top to the outside of the windows. My top is a Westland top and frame.

Looks good. I'll have to look and see if they have an attachment that will work on the outside. I don't have any horizontal spots to mount the base, the window comes down somewhat flush with the side of the hull.
