I see you have a few stainless fittings already,I would change the mounts and pole fittings to stainless. My 2655 bimini is very stable since I changed mine, the plastic fittings just don't cut it. marine part depot has geat prices on fittings.

STACHI-the rear bars i bought were adjustable type, they replaced the straps, the rear would be adjustable only because its already got a sleeve there with a set screw for the lower tube, i would probably just utilize that sleeve even though i probably wont be adjusting it. The upper plate will be large, i was giving a off the wall dimension, but it will be big to spread the tension, all powder coated too of course. you think i need a rubber seal under the top plate to protect the gel coat?

DOLPHIN1-all of the fittings are the factory cheap crap. the fittings i intend on keeping i will be converting over to stainless all for rigidity.
