I'm with bondo.....I chose not to breed....I figure that there are enough idiots in the world and I sure don't need to add to the pile....besides...like bondo..I have none...or at least no one has stepped up to claim me...8)

this brings up another question....do we start calling them "African American Indians? or American African Indians? or Indian American Africans???"

doesn't this get nauseating too other normal or semi normal people or is it just me??...:/

Hmmmmm. It seems to me that their interest when there are benefits to being citizens of the Cherokee Nation is normal.

The fact that the "other" Cherokees now want to deny them citizenship because they showed little interest historically and may not share the genes of the "other" Cherokees is also normal.

Were their ancestors legal citizens? Is there any law that denies them citizenship because they are not "blood" Cherokees? Then they are citizens.

There is no law against wanting their share and no law against wanting to keep it all in the "family" of blood Cherokees.

History pretty much proves that we honkies set the style for unjustly and illegally denying citizens the benefits of citizenship because of their blood.

I have avoided this thread a few times today. Having 1/8 cherokee blood causes me to tread lite.

It seems to me that the American gov forced the hand of the Cherokee forcing them to enclude their slaves after freeing them
. For the record, It was not uncommon for Indian tribes to make slaves of their adversarys whether they Indian. white or black. For nomadic tribes like the commanche it was a must to take women and children from the settlers and trappers that invaded their territorys and killed their braves in the movement westward. It was about suvival.

The Cherokee different however. They were more productive in agriculture and crafts and business than most whites. They truley assimilated with the white man and his culture. They even had their own schools. That soon changed however when more and more settlers moved in and drove them out of the appallacian states.

The problem for the cherokee nation is the fact that there is alot of african amercans ( many of whom dont even realize) that they have cherokee blood. ........

So, what constitutes Cherokee benefits?...is it citizenship or blood link. Looks to me like the law says citizenship. But I agree the double dip shouldnt fly. If the blach cherokee want the title and the benifits,.. ok but they must forfeit current minority status...

interesting.....

3rd vote for HAWG month.
And I guess we are to call them "Native African Americans".

All BULLS**T to gain some credence somewhere.

In the immortal words of Theodore Roosevelt:
"There's no place in this country for hyphenated Americanism".

Take money out of the conflict and there's no conflict.
