Black Ooze leaking out the bottom ??

Not sure if it's oil or what. Ran my new-to-me '82 9.9 Johnson for the first time today. Parked the motor on a stand a few hours ago and just went out to check prop size and there is a small puddle of black ooze under the prop. What's up with that? I doesn't look like it's leaking from the lower unit fill or drain hole. What could it be, where could it be coming from, and do I need to panic yet?

Don't panic...it's just unburnt two stroke oil. It still happens to my motor as well at a 50/1 ratio. It's not a problem..it's coming out from the prop hub, right? If so...no sweat.

PS- I asked the same question myself not too long ago.

Take a breath, its ok.
That is just unburnt fuel/oil mix from the exhaust.
That sludge is the reason why treehuggers dont like our old outboards.

Shh... everybody will want some. Not to worry its just unburnt gas, oil and other guck formed when you ran it. It just takes a while for it to drain down

Gentlemen, Thank you! I just got rid of a problem-child Johnson and bought this little beauty. She started first pull, ran all day long without a problem, and when I saw the puddle thought " I knew it was too good to be true" and expected another problem. For once, I may actually have an outboard that doesn't need constant repair.
Thanks for the answers.
