Dumb question, however I would like an answer (second owner). I was under the trailer the other day (boat was on it) and I noticed a black, oval hard plastic plate toward the aft of the boat on the bottom of the hull. Boat does not have a depth sounder so I doubt that it is a transducer. Does Crownline offer a raw water cooling system? If someone could shed a little light, I would be grateful.

I'm willing to bet that your motor is already raw water cooled. It's probably a plug the factory installed to cap off a thru-hull fitting for an option not standard on your boat.

Thank you for thoughts on this. My cooling system is raw water cooled- in through the outdrive and out via exhaust. Does anyone know if these boats had a fresh water (closed system) option? And, if so, could this oval cap be part of that option?

its probably a transducer I don't know of anything else coming out of the bottom of the boat in that year, yes you could order the boat with a closed cooling system, Crownline will build the boat to your specs and they still do, they will even put a blue high performance motor in it if you want. If you get a chance get a pic of it and post it, also if you can get a pic of the top from the bilge side that would help, but my money is that it is or was a transducer
