Running my 1995 150 evinrude for the first time this year had some black sludge coming from the exhaust.I actually just idled up the canal to my slip and then let it idle for a while..I winterized my fuel with sea foam so I am assuming that I am getting the residual of a decarb by letting it run through the system. It really made a mess out the paint on the back of the shaft.Should I assume thats all it is??Charlie

Hey Charlie.....probably all it is as you suspect. Check the gear lube to be double sure and then go out and blow the tarnation outta' it....should solve the messy problem..... :D

Just changed the gear lube with penzoil synthetic. It is almost clear with a gold tint.Im sure thats not it.I think I will let it idle in my slip and run the Sea foam gas through and then fill it up with fresh fuel before I run the rpms up.You are probably right, she need to have that crap blown out.Charlie
