There's usually an O ring inside the steering cable tubes where the shafts come out, near the end of the tubes. then have to be put in before the steering cable is installed.
Great news! I was at the lake all day Sat. The steering felt great. There were no warning sirens. The water pump works great. This motor will fly. Thank you everybody for the help solving my issue. I was very gratifying to have it perform so well. I will always remember my friends here at the mercury forum.
