Ok guys,need help on figuring out few things.i have a 94 stratos 275xl pro with 95 blackmax 2.0 150 currently have precision turbo 14-1/4x24p but prop has seen its better days so time to replace.now i know this rig is pretty heavy but i read all these forums of how people doing 55 to 60+mph at like 5500 but mine at 5500 is only around 41 to 43 .if i press my luck and burry the tach i can get 51.4 gps speed.but heres the deal with the prop on. It. I. Can. Turn 5500 at 3/4 throttle trimmed almost all way down.i can trim up and can turn 6 or better at same throttle.now i cannot understand this.because i feel like i could just blow motor at anytime and cannot run it wide open. Shouldnt a 24p actually be propd enuf. That i should be able to run close at full throttle at around 5500 ? Which leads me to believe the tach isnt exactly rite because just cruising. Its. Does float around plus or minus 1000rpm sometimes and iv had other mercs but this is first v6 and my others at 5500 sounded like they were turning alot while the current blackmax at 5500 doesnt even sound like its straining esp when i. Can open it up for like 5 seconds and it keeps pulling. Hard past 5500 .i will have to measur jackplate settings when i get home.but. in hopes somebody with close to. Same set up can give me a baseline. Of. What the boat should run with this. Motor and prop combo.any info gladly appreciated.
