I am currently overhauling the fuel system on my 1980 150 hp black max. it has 6 lines that connect from different points on the block and then into the air silencer box. I want to know what it is these hoses do and what they carry (or what runs in them)??? So that I can replace them with the correct type of hose.

Re: bleed hoses

They route fuel that pools behind the reeds to the opposite cylinder in the firing order. 1-4, 2-5, etc. Watch out when you figure out the routing because on a vertical reed motor, each carb bore services the cylinder behind it. On a horizontal reed motor, each carb bore services the cylinder on the other side.

There's a one way check valve on each one at the reed plate end.

hope it helps

Re: bleed hoses

I have the same setup on mine. What does the line to the air silencer do?
