Bleeding Sea Star - Bleeder Question

Hi Guys, quick question. I have the instructions from the Sea Star site but when it says to Open The Bleeder on the Cylinder arm, do I unscrew it or stick a small nail or something in there? It's a nipple, so I wasn't sure.

Unscrew it partway.
