Years ago you had to bleed them but nowadays, like bhile said they don't need it nowadays.
Raise the engine. Look between the clamp brackets and you will see your trim/tilt motor and pistons. Somewhere on them you will see a large plastic cap (possibly white to direct you to it) that accepts a hex wrench of about 3/4" or a large slotted screwdriver.
Remove the cap and look inside at the fluid level. It should be even with the bottom of the hole where the cap was installed. If not fill till it runs out the hole (slightly) with either Merc Trim and Tilt fluid, or regular Automotive ATF (Merc recommends both).
Reinstall the cap and run your trim all the way up and down for several cycles pausing at each end to allow time for bubbles to disperse.....couple of minutes at each end should do it.
