mine were the same way and I had the same fear , I replaced mine and set them to the proper depth , seems the tapered end at the top can creep down the hole making the depth too deep . I also just got a set of carbs I bought that had the tubes installed at the right height according to the manual , Rebuild the carbs and set the idle tubes to the depth in the manual .
BTW.. THE CARBS wb 119 , 120 , 121 were used on late 94 , early 95 motors
