Not wanting to hijack this thread .. but I will answer a few questions for ya because this may or may not be in the realm of what the OP is looking at for himself..

I stand corrected as your right, the Interprotect Primer is not needed,

Explain to me why Epiglass HT9000 as I mentioned is outlined in the video at the 3 minute mark followed by the Interprotect 2000E barrier coat

They stripped the bottom down to RAW laminate. They took off all of the bottom paint and Gelcoat exposing the raw fiberglass.

In this case its a good idea to epoxy coat ( I use west system but whatever ) first before the IP2000.

The one question I would have with this vid is why is there two guys Hand sanding the bottom of that beast LOL. Use some power tools in your next vid guys !

I am opting to go with West Marines re-branded Pettit Horizon (which in Canada this particular version was released late May 2012) and has had decent reviews, it is a self polishing ablative anti fouling paint I will use for the first 2 coats, the 3rd coat I plan to use Micron CSC which has the biocide agent within it that we can not get in Canada which will aid in slime reduction.

The VC-17 looks to be some nice anti fouling paint but is pricey, I went a little less expensive route.

I dont know why you would cross product like this. Your going to put Interlux ..then Pettit .. then back to Interlux. Are you sure everything is compatible ? I not sure if it is without sanding between brands.

Not only that but your going to put a Biocide OVER an ablative. Well..which one do you want ? an ablative or a biocide.

I dont know how you suggest that VC17 is Pricey. Sure its 50 bucks a QT ( They ONLY sell it in qts ). But Any other good(ish) bottom paint is up to 175-200+ a gallon.

If you need lets say 1/2 a gal to do a smaller boat bottom with traditional BP only 1 Qt is required of the VC17 ( its water thin mate .. goes on with a foam roller .. thus the reason they only sell it in qts. ). 50 bucks every other season is kinda cheap IMO.

Again VC17 is the best. If you can live with only 3 colors to choose from.

Okay I am going the right route because we are stripping my hull, boat never had bottom paint and the gel coat is being removed from the water line and below.

The Petitt Horizons is a similar paint to Micron CSC (which I noticed does not have the biocide agent, I thought it did but noticed it is the Micron Extra)

The 2 Pettit & Micron are compatible, both are ablative but the Micron CSC is ablative self polishing, no issue putting the Micron over the Petitt so I have been told. However to be careful and too avoid any issue later which I don't want I am gonna take your advice and replace the Petitt Horizons w Micron CSC (already have a gallon) and just go with 2 coats, maybe a third.

Update:
@ YD, thanks for all your feedback to this thread, I will use the West System after reading about it and the local West marine carrying it but not the Epiglass HT9000, will follow up with 3 coats of Interprotect 2000E and 2 coats of Micron CSC, scored a Shark white gallon and quart of Craigslist new for $100 and have 1 Gallon on hand already in black. Appreciate your feedback as I am sure others have. I did see the VC17 here in Canada for $62/qt which is about $250 Gallon, I think what I decided on will be good enough:)
