Hi guys:

Well I got her blocked up and the trailer out from under it. Now I'm thinking of leaving on the stands for winter as it leaves more room in the shop and access to the underside for pollishing. My question is can I leave it likee this for the winter orr do I need more support under the hull. The motor is in(5.7), drive is off and there is about 25 gallons of fuel.

thannks, Ken

Looks supported better then most! Heck of a job building that cribbing!

Q: You have rollers on the back but not on the front. Can you move it?

Looks plenty well supported, only thing I'd be worried about is tipping the rear cribbing over when moving it around if one of those wheel dollies hits a little something.

That looks just like the Stands I built for my Glastron ;) I think you are OK holding it all winter.

It was easier to pull the trailer out without the dollies under the front block. now that the trailer is out, I will put the dollies under it. I have put cross bracing from the front to the back because I was afraid it might flip the back one out if it hit something.
Thanks for the input, Ken

I'm know expert but if I it was my boat I would put one in the middle under the the keel if its going to sit for awhile to avoid any stress cracking . You could make it removable and use a sissor jack from a car . Great job thou

Today I'm going to put the dollies under the front and try pushing it around. I'm going to do a little more bracing first. I'll clean up the shop and move to side and post a couple more pictures. Thanks for imput. Ken

This is what i was thinking too... i haven't done such a project. But pic 2 looks like a long span from the front to the back. Couldn't hurt having a little extra support. So why did you take her off the trailer anyways? I remember a post a while back about an undersized trailer that your boat was sitting on... is this so you can upgrade?

Took the trailer out mainly to get it sold and upgrade. Then once I saw sitting there all nice and sturdy and able to move it around, it seemed to take a lot less space without the trailer. Then I thought I could leave it off and put the new trailer out side, block it up and bring the wheels and tires inside. I'll post some pictures and show you guys what i mean. Its no trouble to put a support in the middle if that makes you guys more comfortale.
Right now I'm trying to get the gimbal bearing out before I clean up and push it up against the wall.

Later, Ken

put one more in the centre.......look in the boat for a bulkhead.....(look in the ski locker) the bulkhead is usually just in front of the gas tank. and support under the bulkhead.

when you have a block under it.....raise the block till its touching the hull, and then just raise the block a little, till the block starts to compress a smidgeon. this will take some stress off the centre of the hull

what you are doing is ok for short periods like a week or so.....but for extended times......use three

Re: Blocked Sea Ray with pictures

Hi guys;
Well I finally got it done. First 3 pictures are before and the rest are after. It can sit there till I have time to work on it. I want to install Corsa Captain's Call exhaust, repair an exhaust flapper, Gimbal bearing and some minor upollstery seam splits. Thanks for all your suggestions and advice.
