I am getting ready to look for a short circuit and I'm looking to check any place in the wiring system for the problem.

Is there a separate blocking diode in my system, and if so where should I look for it?

The short is in the yellow/red circuit and it blew away the key switch. Changing out the switch did not fix the problem. I had to bypass the yellow/red wire to activate the starter.

And I am not gettig the same voltage at the purple wire at the pp as at the battery by 2 volts., 11.5 vs 12.5, so I think it may be part of the problem.

The only blocking diode I was able to find on the web had two purple wires coming from it.

I have seen several of the main harness deutsch connectors short internally and cause problems like you describe. Disconnect harness and ohm from switch back to connector, then on engine from connector to solenoid.

ok, I got it.

Is that harness from switch to engine?

And is the wire with the diode purple and coming out of the engine side?
