So I found a 1990 Ski Brendella in great condition for 2K. Its the same thing as the mastercraft stars and stripes. The problem is the 351w over heated due to a bad water pump impeller. As far as we can tell one of the head gaskets are blow putting water in the cylinder. It was run long enough to blow the head gasket and then shut off. Before I tear into this thing is there anything else I need to know of look for. Im just planning to have the heads reworked, all new gaskets and a water pump impeller. Anything else Im gonna need? Also Im gonna be buying these parts from napa. Is that a bad idea or do I HAVE to get the gaskets for marine engines?

only need marine gaskets if you are running raw water through the engine block. If you have antifreeze in the engine you can use automotive gaskets.
