Blower question

Pictured at the bottom of my post is a picture of my switches, followed by a boat description. One of the switches is for blower, which as I understand it gets rid of fumes which could cause an explosion. When I got the boat the fuse was blown to the blower. I reinstalled the fused (15A, too big? 10 was in.) and it does not reblow.

The light comes on confirming the blower should be on, but I don't hear anything, should I? I used a multimeter to confirm that it is drawing a good amount of current and the wires are heating up. I'm guessing it's just shorting somewhere since I hear nothing.

Re: Blower question

...if the original blower is still installed, more than likely it is seized, thus blowing the initial fuse. From memory most blower circuits only have a 5 amp fuse. Your larger fuse WILL allow the wiring to heat...causing another potential ignition source.
Open the doghouse and located the blower, test it and I'm betting you'll find it rusted and seized.

Re: Blower question

Remove old one, install new one, 20 - 25 bucks. Mine would scream for a few secs then blow the fuse. I removed it to find dirt dobber nests and a chewed up fan. Motor was shot.

Great, thanks. I was just wondering if it should make noise or not :)

It will make noise if it's older; the newer ones are fairly quiet, but you can still hear the air moving. Replace it with a new one, if you're heating up wires  it should be fixed ASAP.

Thats funny Bond-O LOL! Yes you should be able to tell when its running either by hearing it or Like said I just put my hand by the out vent to just feel the forced air blowing out. I even smell the out air just to make sure I don't smell gas too, But I am just funny that way.
