The fuse on my 73 Johnson 115 keeps blowing when I try to start the motor. I had the boat out yesterday was leaving the marina when we hit a "mud bar" the motor quickly heated up and I shut it off and It hasn't started since. The motor wont even attempt to start and when I do try to start it It just blows the fuse. Any Ideas as to whats causing this?

Re: Blown fuse

Ok so I bypassed the fuse to see what would happen and It started right up....Now what does that mean?

Re: Blown fuse

Install an amp meter in place of the fuse and see what the amperage draw is when starting, mabe a wire is shorting out causing the fuse to blow.
