hello Bondo, on the manual (3A-26) - ENGINES, it says: 7. Torque rocker arm nuts to 20 lb. ft. (27 N?m).

that is a lot of torque compared to what you would do to just keep the rocker arm touch the valve (plus 1/2 or 3/4 turn), don't you think?

I did other random google searches and it seems like the hydraulic lifters kind of really take care of the zero lash automatically, some says that although the valve spring gets compressed, after a few minutes the oil pressure in the lifters will drop to the appropriate level ad the spring tension will be released.
I really need a confirmation from someone that knows more than me on this, I don't want to put too much pressure on the lifters, springs and rockers.

really appreciate.

well, since I have not gotten any reply I had no choice but keep goggle it.
From my research, I'm getting a feeling that what the manual says is right if the lifters are new and with no oil in it, but if this are already on an engine then the common zero lash method is needed.

hey Guys quick update and more HELP needed.

I put everything back together and the engine started, however... once cylinder is spitting out water!
I did not put in the exhaust manifolds (very loud) so I can actually see the water sprinkling out of #4.

Could this be the intake manifold rusted and leaking water into the intake chambers? if so wouldn't be water in every cylinder?

Would a cylinder pressure test tell me if it is a cracked block or head? this is happening only on one side and only one cylinder after replacing the head gaskets.

Cheers

Danny

just wanted to give an update.
I had to replace the heads, they were cracked, hard to see but a friend used a magnet and sprayed on some colored metal dust and the cracks showed up. So the cylinder was pulling in water from the head and spitting it out. Tried wit the new heads and all cylinder are firing again.

Thanks for all your support, I saved me thousands :)
