Ayuh,.......

Install a String Line at whatever Points you're trying the Measure,+ Measure From that.......

Measurements can be taken every foot, or every 1/2 foot, or whenever needed,.....
Then just plot it out on the New Wood......

Re: blue prints

As Bondo stated, one thing to remeber there is not a square line, joint or seam in boat. A chalk line will get almost any line right point to point and a tape measure just to balance it all out. In the end you just bond it together with eyeball and luv.......

Dont forget a good angle grinder, a almost Indispensabe tool.

Re: blue prints

if you use a long solid strait edge set to your height
then measure of every six inches using a combination square off your strait edge.then transfer your lay out and use a flexible piece of wood as a bat it will follow your curve.hope this helps

Yeah, I agree,

use a chalk line and a tape measure...very easy to do, transfer to new wood and cut, and trim to fit if necessary...

Or, if you want to go all high-tech on us . . .

Shoot a laser from one end to the other, then measure up to the laser dot. You just need one good flat spot on a stringer to set a laser on.
