This question, it seems to me, should easily be answered by search but I am not using it correctly or the answer is elusive.
The question is, To include an onboard charging system with the add a battery charging switcher, is it desirable to use a single bank or a dual bank on board charger for a two battery system?
The boat is an I/O with a 70 amp alt. The run time on the boat rarely exceeds the idle time. While anchored, we do enjoy the use of the radio, lights, etc. and I do plan to upgrade the power of the audio. Of all the things that can potentially spoil a day on the water, it is my intention to negate the issue of a starting problem related to a discharged battery.
All comments, opinions, and advice are always welcome and greatly appreciated!

A dual bank battery charger would be best. When using a single bank charger, the ACR has to be energized to charge both batteries.
The dual bank will charge each battery as needed.

Thank you, Don S. for reading and responding.
It is your advice, when offered, that, to me, has some of the most background and experience.
