Boarding ladder maintenance?

I have two collapsing boarding ladders. They have become difficult to close up. Anyone know how to repair that?

Try some silicone spray grease. Maybe even some marine grease if you have some lying around. Wipe off excess as necessary.

The Garelick telescoping ladder I recently purchased came with instructions that said to clean it with a mild abrasive cleaner. Maybe that would knock off some of the corrosion that is causing friction between the tubes on yours.
