I Have a 24 ft Pontoon boat,The trailer is a 24 ft bunk .What I want to know is ,Can I move the boat back about a foot safely so the trailer in the front can be towed with out hitting my truck. It's hard to back it up in a tight turn.Or should I get a whole new center tow beam That is a couple of feet longer. There's a picture of it under Home Made boarding ladder.

Ayuh,... It would no doubt be Better to replace the neape with a longer single piece of steel...
Moving the boat, may throw off the balance, necessitating the moving the axle backwards as well...

I was thinking about just replacing the center bar. I hope it comes predrilled. That's going to be a winter project.I'm ok for now. My problem is where I park the boat after using it for the day. I park it on a hill So I have to back up a drive to turn the trailer to the left and go down a hill. not a fun place to park.

Check the tongue weight before you replace any hardware. If it stays above 6 per cent or so, you will be all right
