Trailing edge of trim tab needs to go to the left, port side of boat.

You might need to center your motor on the back of the boat.

Trailing edge of trim tab needs to go to the left, port side of boat.

You sure 'bout that? I'm thinking it's opposite -bow goes starboard because motor is already turning toward port. Move the tab to port, the motor would turn harder toward port ... I think.

Mercury directions state turn trim rab in direction of the pull/ if it pulls left , point tab to left.

Belay Steelspike's suggestion!

If your boat tends to swing right, you need to turn the trim fin trailing edge RIGHT - not left.

The reason is that this fin acts as a rudder for the motor itself, and setting it RIGHT will cause the motor to try and swing its prop to port - left. this helps your boat bias to the left also.

Think it through and you'll see it.
