i am a person that wants everything but cant have it so i make do as does most people. I love boating grandpa had one i always wanted one so i found a 16 ft tri hull for $200.00 needed alot of work got a 50 hp johnson needed work fixed it or so i thought. i was always going out in it it was always breaking down we were always getting towed in untill one day we broke down at the damn at taylorsville lake Ky. we decided to swim for awhile then got in the boat tried to start it and it wouldnt. it was a week day not alot of traffic so i tried to fix it when my hero pulled up next to me he said hey you need a tow i said sure thanks about this time he pulls a beer out of his jetski and proceeds to swerve sub stall etc. it was embarassed not to be towed but to be towed by a drunk guy on a jet ski another BOAT came along asked if we wanted to let them tow us instead but the guy insisted he could so a trip that could have been 20-30 min was about1 1/2 hours. you just had to be there. <br />hey drunk jet ski guy thanks for the lift

Oh well. At least you kept from getting in too much trouble while ya had him on the other end of your rope.

Re: boat breaks down

It's a 20-30 min boat tow, 1 1/2 hour jetski tow and i'm guessing about a 5 hour paddle. i'll take the former two. But boating always seems to restore faith in human kind because on the roads, for the most part, people just don't care...if someone breaks down, everyone thinks...oh, someone else will stop and help, and eventually someone does...but what is 5 mins out of ones day to help...boating, there is a code that (most) boaters go by. Everyone waves, give wide berths, and it seems that if someone is in trouble, its not too much trouble for someone to give them a tow to the nearest dock if nothing else. Always good to see good samaritan (probably spelt that one wrong) stories.
