Boat Capsized

Greetings, I just found out that a boat I just purchased had been capsized.... this information was not fully disclosed to me, we love the boat... anything in particular I should look out for? Is a boat that's been capsized at any unusual risk?<br /><br />thanks in avance

Freshwater... apparently outdrive boot had a hole in it.. and boat rolled in slip

duckman,<br /><br />As long as it runs good and everything electrical works-it should be OK.<br /><br />Keep an eye out for electrical problems-particularly where wires meet connectors.

former owner had "everything electrical replaced" and interior has been completely re-done...

For what it's worth, I'm an insurance guy and have seen this before. I would sure spend the money to have a qualified marine mechanic check this boat out. A short time submerged in most fresh water will not do long time harm to most boats, but I once examined a boat that had been underwater in a "hot" slip; it suffered massive corrosion in that very short time (probably the boat's own battery contributed). In such a case, EVERY piece of metal conducting power needed to be replaced, not just those that show.<br />The good price you should pay for getting a salvaged boat should more than make up for any extra costs in evaluating the true condition of the boat.
