Can anyone recommend a boat cover that will fit this model boat? It's a 2002 Tracker DV-16. I have already returned two different covers due to them not fitting and with so many different sizes, styles, etc., I thought I would try to find out what others may have purchased to fit this particular model boat. Thanks for your help.

Search your area for some company that does custom fabric sewing. They would take the boat, measure, cut and sew cover to custom fit. You will need to have at least three poles to support the fabric cover off the boat to keep the rain water from settling and pooling on cover.

Well this may not be for you but, I have a Tracker DV17 and I keep mine covered with one of the cheap $20 blue or gray plastic tarps from Wal-mart or Home Depot.

I use the 12 x 24' and a bunch of bungees hooked into the grommets and wrapped around my trailer frame, it fits very tight and will actually take a bit of snow load. Not only does it cover my boat, it also covers the winch on front of the trailer and most of my motor.

I actually use 2 of the tarps at a time, when the top one gets burned out by the sun I by another and move the bottom tarp up to cover the new tarp.

I started out buying the 200-$300 boat covers when I first bought my boat, but the hot Alabama sun here burns them up so quick it was just too darn expensive.

If you can't find a suitable cover here on IBoats, you might want to try "boatcoversdirect.com". I just ordered a custom fit one from them at a reasonable price and was pleased with the quick service and quality / fit. See if they list your model for custom fit ones or look at the semi-custom ones by type. Good luck.

Has anybody bought a cover for their 16' DeepV? I'm wondering if anybody is using the the Storm Pro covers and what size fit this particular boat. There is #88928 that fits 14'-16' up to 90" beam and there is #88938 that fits 16'-18 1/2' up to 98" beam. Thanks again.

Unless you don't like your boat very much, I suggest not buying the blue tarps. The damage I have seen from the covers rubbing the boat or letting water in will cost more than a good cover. Get a custom made cover made with Sunbrella. They last way over 10 years and you will be money ahead in the long run.

I'm sure this only happens to people that don't know what they're doing.

Cinch it down tight to your trailer frame and it won't rub.

Replace it when it starts showing signs of UV damage and it'll stay waterproof. You can line the bed of a pickup truck with one of these tarps and make a swimming pool... you can also make a canoe out of one of these tarps with some bamboo and duct tape.

Like I said earlier, the blue tarps may not be for everyone... but they work for me.

I make my own boat covers so the cost isn't an issue. I did have to temporarily use the blue tarp method when I first bought my boat and it was not a great experience. I tied down the cover tight and it still flapped. There are only so many tie downs on the things and when you have curves, it makes things worse. My neighbors also hated seeing the blue tarp.

The Sunbrella cover on my boat is now 10 years old with no signs of wear to the fabric or the thread. It has been hassle free for that whole time which is also worth something to me.

Thanks Capt. Obvious! I know that there are many places that have and sell boat covers. I'm trying to find out what cover others have found that fits properly on my specific model of boat.

Dowco makes most of the 'factory' covers for Tracker Dealers that fit great. Their website has a link with all of the models of tracker boats and the cover for them. they are spendy however (at least the Ratchet Models)....

yep! they have one for your year/mmodel

Thanks for your post. I did get a phone call returned to me from Tracker concering the dowcomarine boat covers. I was trying to maybe find something that costs less that will also fit properly.

FYI. I finally found a cover that fits great and I got it real cheap at the biggest big box. I bought the Classic Accessories Storm Pro Trailerable Cover with 5 year warrantly for only $109 online.

Read the terms of that warranty carefully, most are for manufacturers defects only and don't include UV damage which is what always kills my boat covers.
